What bubble wrap is for
Bubble wrap cushions a face or a corner. It is not the material that fills a half-empty carton. If the problem is movement, use void fill. If the problem is a fragile surface, use wrap. Many packs need both: wrap the item, then fill the gap so it cannot slide.
The bubble wrap category describes the range as protection for delicate and fragile items in transit and in storage, including shipping, storage and a house move. It sits in the protection category with foam, edge protection and paper cushioning.
The types we list
The category says we stock small bubble wrap, large bubble wrap, green biodegradable bubble wrap and paper bubble wrap. Small bubble follows a tighter surface. Large bubble is the heavier cushion. The green biodegradable wrap and the paper version are the alternatives when you do not want standard plastic bubble.
The eco-friendly page describes the biodegradable bubble wrap as made from 100% recycled materials, and as recyclable and biodegradable. That is a different product from the standard rolls, so it has its own category. Bubble pouches are the bags made from bubble, for a single item that should be bagged rather than rolled.
How much wrap to use
Cover the fragile faces. A single loose layer that does not meet at the edges does not cushion a corner. Do not rely on wrap to stop a heavy item moving inside a large box. That is a void-fill job, or a sign that the carton is too big.
Edge and corner protection, foam wrap and corrugated paper rolls are the other protection categories when bubble is the wrong shape. A picture frame or a panel often needs a sheet and a corner piece, not only a roll of bubble.
Buying the rolls
Open the bubble wrap category and choose the type, then the roll. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day. UK delivery is free on orders over £50 ex VAT. If bubble is only part of the order, add the tape and the cartons so the delivery threshold and the dispatch cover the whole pack.
