Three jobs
A finished pack usually needs three different materials. Void fill stops the goods moving. Bubble wrap, foam or paper cushioning protects a fragile face. Tape holds the box shut. Buying a large roll of only one of them does not cover the other two jobs.
You do not need every product in the protection and tape ranges. Pick the fill that suits the gap, the wrap that suits the goods, and a tape that holds the board you are using.
Protection
The protection category holds bubble wrap, loose fill, foam wrap, edge and corner pieces, polystyrene, corrugated paper, furniture protection, bubble pouches and layer pads. Bubble wrap is split again into small bubble, large bubble, green biodegradable bubble and paper bubble.
Use wrap on the item and fill in the space around it. Edge pieces are for the corners of furniture, panels and frames. Layer pads separate stacked goods inside one carton.
Tape
Tapes are their own category: brown packing tape, clear tape, printed tape, vinyl, reinforced and crossweave tapes, kraft paper tape, masking tape, gummed paper tape, and tape guns. Brown tape is the general closer for a cardboard box. Gummed paper tape is the water-activated paper tape, including the Xtegra range in standard and reinforced versions.
A tape gun matters when you are sealing a lot of cartons. The category includes guns and dispensers, and water-activated tape machines sit with the other machines in the systems range.
Putting the order together
Add the box, the fill, the wrap and the tape as one order so they arrive together. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day. UK delivery is free on orders over £50 ex VAT, and stocked lines can be returned within 14 days of purchase.
